Who we are
The New Life Fellowship (NLF) began in 1983 as a small initiative, when the Lord Jesus Christ moved the heart of Pastor V.M. Samuel and his wife, Somey to move out of Mumbai and pioneer a church in Mangalore, Karnataka. Inspired by the commission of the Lord to “go and preach the gospel to all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20), God enabled them to envision a church-planting movement throughout South India, particularly in Karnataka.
In 1987, Pastor V.M. Samuel and Somey handed over the churches in Mangalore to Pastor Donald and Winnie Menezes and moved to Bangalore to lead the mission of the New Life Fellowship. They continue to serve the Lord as the Senior Pastors of the New Life Fellowship Churches, guiding more than 120 churches in South India & the Middle East.
Pastor V.M. Samuel cherishes a firm conviction that the church is the path that leads to the revival of the people and the means of reaching out to the unreached. The church planting ministry of the New Life Fellowship continues to progress despite challenges. The Lord has raised up stalwart leaders who have stood beside Pastor V.M. Samuel in faithfully building the kingdom of God. The Lord has also equipped him with faithful co-workers who are committed to the leadership and vision of NLF. Together they form an extraordinary team that is tasked with the vision to establish Bible-based, Spirit-filled, Self-Governing & Self-Supporting Churches with a commission to “Grow. Go. Give”.
To establish Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, Bible-based Churches that grow and multiply across nations so as to transform lives and communities.
We are committed to:
Edify through Word, Worship, Prayer, and Fellowship
Equip through Discipleship
Envision through Intercession, Inspiration, and Impartation
Empower through laying on of hands and releasing resources
Enlarge through community engagement and evangelism
While we realize that we cannot confine God to mere articles of faith, we also recognize the importance of doctrine in these days when people are being led astray by false teachings. To avoid being tossed about by the winds of doctrine, it is important for every believer to have a firm foundation in the basic fundamental doctrines of the Scriptures.
As a part of the larger vision of New Life Fellowship, God led the NLF leadership to send Pastors Sam Lal K.S and Jincy Sam to pioneer a church in South Bangalore in 2011. Since then, the Lord has used them in pastoring the New Life Fellowship Church of South Bangalore, holding fast to and sharing the love of Christ through passionately serving God and His church. Pastor Sam received his B.Com from Kerala University, B.D. from Faith Theological Seminary (Serampore University) and M.Th. from United Theological College, Bangalore (Serampore University). He began his ministry among children and youth in ICYPM, Mavelikara in 2000. He has been involved in pastoral and pioneering work with NLF since 2006. He served as a lecturer of New Testament at ACTS, Bangalore for over four years. His wife Pastor Jincy Sam completed her B.Sc., B.Ed., and M.Sc. from Goa University. In addition to serving God in the church, she teaches in The Samhita Academy, Bangalore. The Lord has blessed the family with a son, Chris Joel Sam.
